It is with great joy that Father Jeff Kegley, Pastor of Saint Mary, Mother of God Church and Mr. Craig Palmer, Principal of Saint Mary School, announce the appointment of Mr. Patrick Mullen as Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction. Mr. Mullen has a long distinguished career in elementary education recently serving as principal of Saint Joseph the Carpenter School in Roselle, New Jersey, Vice Principal of Bender Memorial Academy in Elizabeth, New Jersey, run by the Benedictine Sisters of Elizabeth, and as a teacher in the Elizabeth School District.
According to Mr. Palmer, the role of Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction is to assist him in the administration of the school with a focus on a continual review of the curriculum. This will ensure our school maintains our high standard of academic excellence while exploring the new teaching initiatives in elementary education such as the STEM program model that will include robotics. Mr. Mullen’s vast experience in public and Catholic education will be a great asset to Saint Mary School.
On his appointment Mr. Mullen said, “Our God is great, and I thank Him for this exciting opportunity to serve as Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction. I believe that everything one learns prepares us for the next step that God has planned. It will be a joy to work with Mr. Palmer and the wonderful families and students of Saint Mary’s advancing the mission of Saint Mary School in being academically excellent and passionately Catholic.”
Mr. Mullen holds Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Seton Hall University, South Orange, New Jersey and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Kean University, Union, New Jersey. He is a member of the Secular Franciscan Order and an active member of Saint Mary, Mother of God Church serving in various ministries.
